Md Imthiaz, CEO and founder of the Gurgaon-based start upsaid that the company has tied up with over 200 merchants in the city and nearly 3,000 across the country. The major brands include Café Coffee Day, Pizza Corner, Moti Mahal Delux, Candy Club, Vogue, Kettle and Simar.

A user can start with Hoppr by sending a nearby place’s name as an SMS to 56660. For example, when a user is at Café Coffee Day, by sending CCD to the number will check the user in; earns points and downloads a coupon. This, the user then redeems on the spot. Users can also share their check-ins on Facebook, again using SMS, he told newspersons.

Y2CF has tied up with six mobile service providers – Airtel, Aircel, Idea, Reliance, Tata Docomo and Vodafone – to provide the Hoppr service.

Imthiaz, former value-added services head of Bharti Airtel, said the company, which has nearly 100 employees, hope to reach one million outlets in three to four years. “We want to create the habit of consumers saying I am here. We are also using online to make the offline experience better for consumers,” he said.
