Solomon BioPharma to open 180 retail stores; to invest Rs 350 cr

 Herbal medicine  manufacturer Solomon Bio Pharma and Research today said it is foraying into retailing of the healthcare and beauty products and targeting opening of 180 stores across India in the next three years.


“We see huge business opportunities in healthcare and beauty sector. We are targeting to open 180 stores across the country in the next three years. The company will open its first store in February next here in the national capital,” Solomon Bio Pharma and Research CEO Rajendra Trakru  said.

The company which has a manufacturing plant in Haryana will also sell imported products in its stores, he said.

He said that for the first two years “the company will be investing about Rs 350 crore in setting up of these stores”.

The market size of healthcare and beauty products in India is estimated at about $ 40 billion.

The products which will be sold in the stores include nasal aspirator, mosquito trap, BP monitors, blood glucose meters, snore off band, wrinkle magic and ear cleaner.

Trakru said the company also has an e-commerce portal through which it sells its products.

The Indian healthcare industry is rapidly growing as a result of higher income levels, greater reach of health insurance and changing lifestyle.
