US-based designer Sushma Patel is set to make her debut in Indian fashion industry with the forthcoming India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW). She is going to showcase her talent inspired by her Indian roots. She has added a desi touch to her creations. Over 15 years of presence in the fashion industry, Patel has showcased her work at fashion weeks in New York, Paris, Dubai and Milan. She also retails from diverse destinations like Istanbul, Jamaica, Romania, Barbados, Russia, Cayman Island and Iceland.
Though she never found time to bring her designs to India since she was busy with her international projects and clients, Patel has always been keen on coming back to her own country to launch her line of clothing. She would be unveiling her designs at the second edition of the fashion extravaganza scheduled at Goa’s popular Candolim beach.
Inspired by Indian designers like Manish Malhotra and JJ Valaya, her collection at IRFW titled ‘Cupcake Massacre’ will have a mix of tailored jumpsuits and easy-to-wear shifts accented with chains and studs, accessorised by colour−blocked wedges and slings.
